COVID-19 - Safety Notice

Ongoing Restrictions & Precautions due to COVID-19 / Coronavirus

Dear Patients,

Sirona Medical has remained open for patient consultations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with national HSE guidance on safe access for patients and staff. We have a range of precautions in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for staff and patients.

Please do not come to the surgery if you have:

  • Flu-like / head cold or sinus symptoms which include (but are not limited to) fever/high temperature, headaches, new cough, shortness of breath, change to sense of taste or sense of smell.
  • If you have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
  • If you have travelled outside Ireland (including Northern Ireland) in the past 14 days (even if you have a negative PCR test).
  • If you work in a healthcare setting such as a nursing home or hospital

If you have flu-like, head-cold or sinus symptoms, or are in any of the above categories, please telephone the surgery and you will be offered a telephone consultation for assessment with the doctor / nurse. Do not attend at the surgery.

Please note that in order for a GP to refer for testing for COVID-19, patients must meet the clinical criteria, as per the HSE Public Health and testing requirement. While you are awaiting a telephone consultation for flu-like / possible COVID-19 symptoms, click here to find out what is meant by ‘self-isolation’ and advice for yourself and your household. General Consultation & Routine Appointments

If you are feeling unwell with symptoms of illness, you should contact the practice on (01) 868 0242 to make a consultation appointment. If the practice is closed, contact D-Doc at 1850 22 44 77. Please do not ignore new or worsening illness – other medical concerns and illness can still be assessed during this crisis, however delays for appointments may occur due to high demand. Please be patient as the telephone is extremely busy with incoming calls.

Screening and immunisation appointments including Cervical Check, Childhood Immunisations and necessary blood tests etc will continue with additional precautions and these and any face-to-face appointments will need to be time-limited as part of increased COVID precautions. We ask for your cooperation and understanding as we implement these measures which are necessary to keep patients and staff safe, and to maintain the essential GP services at this time.

If you have an appointment, please attend on your own unless you absolutely need assistance. Please use the Intercom to let us know you have arrived for your appointment and bring your mobile phone. You will be called in when the doctor/nurse is ready to see you.

The Waiting Room remains closed to protect staff and patients and to reduce the time that patients may be in contact with others.

General Enquiries and Administrative Requests
All appointments, requests and queries must be made by telephone at (01) 868 0242. No appointment requests or queries will be taken at the door in the interests of confidentiality.

Please continue to be mindful of your own safety and that of your families and friends by staying at home, maintaining 2 meter distance from others and washing hands.
