The Government’s announcement last week that many restrictions will be lifted is welcome as we learn to live with Covid in our community.

At Sirona Medical, we will continue to keep many familiar precautions in place at the surgery to guard against Covid-19 transmission and infection. The purpose of these precautions is so that you and other patients continue to have a General Practice service available to you. There is still a very high rate of Covid in the community and it can have serious health impacts for some people.

  • Masks will be required at all times in the practice.
  • We will continue to ask you to wait outside for your appointment, to reduce the risk of infection between patients.
  • Patients with any head-cold, flu-like, Covid 19 or respiratory symptoms (such as new cough, temperature, sore throat, headaches, runny nose, loss or change to smell or taste etc) will still need to postpone face-to-face appointments until fully symptom free for 48 hours and to follow HSE public health guidelines regarding self-isolation and restricted movements.
  • You can see full details of what to do if you develop any respiratory symptoms here on the HSE website but the key thing to remember is that if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (even if they seem similar to symptoms you have had before), you need to isolate away from other people and get a Covid test. The type of test you need is detailed on the HSE website here.

It is important to remember that Covid-19 is still highly transmissible, and the disease can have serious health impacts for some people. We are maintaining our precautions to protect staff and patients and to ensure that we can continue to remain open for appointments, as we have done throughout the pandemic.

If you wish to get a Covid-19 vaccine or Booster vaccine and have not already done so, you can contact the HSE at 1800 700 700 or book an appointment online by clicking here. We have now concluded our Covid-19 Booster clinics at the practice but you can still get vaccinated in a HSE centre.
