UPDATE: COVID-19 BOOSTER CLINICS NOW COMPLETE AT SIRONA MEDICAL
Patient who are aged 16 and over can now book an appointment to receive their Covid-19 Booster vaccine at the practice.
Update 6th Jan 2022: Due to vaccine availability, we can now also accept appointment bookings for people over 16 who are not patients of Sirona Medical, and who wish to receive a Covid-19 Booster vaccine.
These clinics are being arranged in response to national plans to increase Booster vaccine roll-out and significant concerns about the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. Dates and availability will be announced on this website and on our Facebook page as clinics are arranged, so please keep an eye on these for ongoing updates. Scroll down for booking links.
In order to be eligible to receive the Covid-19 Booster vaccine at Sirona Medical:
- Update 6th January 2022: due to vaccine availability, we have some limited availability for patients who are not registered patients of Sirona Medical. You can now book an appointment for a Covid-19 Booster vaccine at the clinic on Tuesday 11th January 2022. If you are not a registered patient, you will be asked to provide your address and some additional details to secure an appointment. Please note: the appointment will be for a Covid-19 Booster vaccine and you will not become a patient of the practice.
- It must be 3 months or more since you received your second dose of Covid vaccine (or single dose Janssen vaccine).
- If you have had a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 in the past three** months, you do not need a Booster at this time and are not eligible. Please do not book an appointment as you will not receive a vaccine. **(Please note the change to 3 months on 21st December)
All appointments must be booked online. This is to try and reduce the amount of administration involved in these large clinics. If you are not familiar with online booking, please ask a family member or friend to help you.
Appointments are limited to what we can safely provide, based on staff and practice capacity. Scroll down for booking links. Appointments will be booked on a first come, first served basis as per the online system. If you are unable to make an appointment online due to lack of access etc., you may contact the practice and ask Reception staff to place your name on a reserve list for an appointment. Please only do this if you are genuinely unable to access the online booking. If you cannot get an appointment on the clinic dates advertised because they are fully booked, please check back again next week for later clinics.
If you are eligible for the Booster vaccine and cannot secure an appointment with us that suits you, you will still receive an appointment from the HSE to attend a vaccination clinic. You also have the option of attending a HSE walk-in clinic (see options here: https://www2.hse.ie/screening-and-vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/get-the-vaccine/covid-19-vaccine-booster-dose/) We would urge patients to take the first available Booster vaccine but please do cancel any other appointments made so someone else can be offered the slot.
These clinics require a huge amount of administration and clinical input, at a time when demand is already high for appointments and GP services. Please bear in mind that staff are doing their best to help all patients and that we have to put in a huge amount of extra time and effort to organise these clinics, especially at this time of year.
There will be an impact on availability of general appointments as we do our best to help in providing these Boosters – we will continue to provide GP services however we ask that you please postpone routine appointments until early/mid January.
Please do not book a vaccination appointment if you have any flu-like / head-cold / respiratory or Covid-19 symptoms as you cannot enter the surgery with symptoms.
