The HSE Public Health advice is that anyone who develops any flu-like symptoms should self-isolate. Self-isolation means staying indoors, staying in your room if you live with others, and completely avoiding contact with other people. You need to do this if you have symptoms of coronavirus. This is to stop other people from getting it.

You will need to self-isolate:
– if you have symptoms of coronavirus,
– before you get tested for coronavirus,
– while you wait for test results,
– if you have had a positive test result for coronavirus.

Please click here: HSE Public Health Advice on Self Isolation to find out what is meant by ‘self-isolation’ and advice for yourself and your household or call 1850 24 1850.

Restricted movements means avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible. It is sometimes referred to as quarantine. To read about the difference between self-isolation and quarantine/restricted movement, see here: HSE Advice: What is the difference between Self Isolation & Restricted Movements

If you have been advised to self-isolate and if your symptoms worsen during daytime hours, please contact the practice at (01) 868 0242 for further advice.

If the practice is closed, contact D-Doc Out of Hours service at 1850 22 44 77 for urgent queries or if you have a medical emergency including severe shortness of breath, please contact the Emergency Services at 112 and let them know that you have worsening symptoms of Covid-19/Coronavirus.
